Art Show and Auction
Aspiring anime artists from around the world can submit their
artwork for display or sale in our huge art show. We are aggressively
seeking submissions from artists for this year's event and hope to have
one of the largest anime art shows in the country.
Over the next couple of years we are hoping to position AnimeFEST
as the premier anime artists convention. With both the
largest anime art show and the most artist oriented programming. If
you're interested in helping or programming have ideas, please contact us.

AnimeFest 2005 artists!
General Rules for Members
- All persons wishing to purchase art must obtain a bidder's
number. You will need to stop by the Art Show desk during normal
operating hours to acquire one. We will not be assigning
bidder's numbers at the auction. So, if you have any thoughts of
attending the auction, please make sure you pick up a number some
time prior to Sunday night.
- We request that all pieces purchased out right or won at
auction be allowed to stay in the art show until Monday morning,
if it is at all possible. This will allow the most guests to view
all the art that was shown. If you need to pick it up prior to
Monday, we understand and arrangements for pick-up can be made
either at time of purchase at the Art Show desk or at the close of
the auction at the auction table. For those persons for whom the
art auction will be a new experience, please keep in mind that
there is a lot of art to be gone through and it can take a while.
Please give us your patience and we promise to give each piece its
full due.
- The Art Show will have security at the door for the entire
time the art show is open. It will be their job to keep the art
safe. So, please don't give them a hard time when they ask you to
check your purses, packages, cameras, or other items. We promise
they will give them back. They will also stop any persons
attempting to bring food or drink into the Art Show. We think the
art is most beautiful when there are no spills to be seen. The
art room will be locked during the hours that the show is not for
viewing.
- Finally, this is an art show comprised mostly of fans. We ask
that you do not make rude, hurtful, or demeaning comments about
any of the art shown. They were brave enough to put it up; be
kind enough to appreciate their efforts. We reserve the right to
bar any persons causing a scene.

Art Guidelines
- This is an Anime convention. We would prefer the majority of
your art be of an Anime theme but we will accept art with a
Science Fiction and Fantasy theme as well. This means we should
be able to determine that it fits into one of the above categories
through subject matter, character design, or other forms of
interpretation. This will be at the discretion of the Art Show
Manager with the right to appeal if desired. We are not trying to
stifle your creativity. We simply want the art to fit the forum
we are providing. This will bring more enjoyment to the viewers
and a better chance of sales for the artist. Which brings us
right into rule two.
- AnimeFest reserves the right to refuse to allow
any piece to be shown for any reason. This is not a private
showing at a private gallery. We get to decide what is not in
good taste. We will have an 'adult' section for tastefully done
nudes that can not be accessed by persons under the age of 17 but
we will not be allowing anything to be hung that we consider
obscene, vulgar or in poor taste. We also will not allow any item
to be hung or displayed that might infringe on the rights of those
to whom the copy right has been granted or that might do damage to
the value of the characters they own. Keep this in mind before
you bring a piece to the convention. Look at it and ask yourself
if you would be ashamed if the original character artist happened
to see it. If the answer is yes, please leave it at home.
- All artist or their representatives will be responsible for
hanging their own art. If you have a
representative hang your art, please send a note letting us know
that they have the right to do so. If any artist or their
representative needs help in hanging the art, please feel free to
ask. We are there to make this a joyful experience for all
involved.
- We will require that all pieces, either on the back or
underneath, be clearly marked with the artist's name and the name
of the piece. This is to provide us with a way to match piece and
artist at the auction, upon pick up, or upon retrieval if the
piece doesn't sale. It does not have to be permanent but must be
attached well enough to handle moving. When the piece is
displayed we will provide identity slips that will need to be
placed on or near each piece. These will provide viewers with
information such as artist's name, name of piece, character and/or
series, and medium. Please be ready to provide this information
when you or your art arrives.
The Art Show Manager reserves the rights to change or add to
these rules as circumstances dictate.
