What's happening at AnimeFest!
Opening Ceremonies
Friday night event officially signals the opening of the convention. This
is when our chairman takes an opportunity to brag about the weekend and
introduce our guests. The entertainment for this event is still to be decided.
Sunday Night Concert
In the past few years AnimeFEST's Concert event has been an evening to
remember and this year is no different. This year we are proud and excited to
have Maaya Sakamoto!
At this time we do not know band management's rule regarding
photography policies. We will post any policies as soon as we know what they
are for this year.
Contests
Check out the 6 great 2005 contests!
- Gaming Mascot Contest
We had some fantastic entries, the winning entry can be seen
on the Gaming badges and as the back cover of the AnimeFest 2005 program book.
- Manga Contest
Look for this year's winning Manga in the program book.
- Member Vote Art Contest
This year members will get a chance to let artists in the art show know who they like. Come to
the Art Show to find out how you can vote for your favorite AnimeFest 2005 artists.
- FanFic Contest
The AnimeFEST Fanfic Contest exists to bring recognition and appreciation to talented
anime fanfic authors. Winning entries will be in the program book and the winning
authors have a chance to read their fan-fic at the convention.
- Fan Video Contest
Fans will compete for great prizes by submitting their amateur music
and parody videos for judging by other members. You can see their work
Saturday from 4pm - 6pm.
- AVDesign Model Contest
We are again excited to announce the return of the A.V.D. Model Contest! The
contest is open to all AnimeFEST members and entries will be displayed in
the Art Show.
Video Theaters
AnimeFEST has always prided itself with having the best anime
video theaters around. This year should be spectacular! We have
great function rooms at the hotel set aside and our theater
programming manager is hard at work trying to line up the most
exciting schedule ever. All rooms will feature giant screen digital
projection systems and thundering surround sound systems. Stay tuned
for more details as we get closer to the convention.
The video rooms will be open 24hr/day from Friday at noon until
Monday at 3pm.
Saturday Night Cosplay
What anime convention would be complete without a costume
contest?! This is your opportunity to show off your sewing
abilities, acting skills, and creativity for fabulous prizes.
Panel Discussions & Workshops
There will be three panel rooms with a variety of discussion tracks and
a workshop room running continuously each day during the convention. There
will be a variety of panel discussions, workshops and other activities which
give you a chance to get to know our special guests, learn more about anime,
and experience the Japanese culture.
Monica & Emily's EGL Tea Party
Looking for a place to wear that awesome EGL outfit? Want to meet others
with your sense of fashion? How about just showing off that costume you
have worked on all summer with out having to compete? Join us at Monica
& Emily’s EGL Tea Party. Raffle prizes will be drawn. You can show off
your ensemble or just take in the scenery. Prizes donated by Studio
Capsule....
Martial Arts Demonstrations
Game Shows
Hosted by Gilliam Neighbor and Randy Entertainment
- Anime Password-
It's more than Password, it's Anime
Password! Join us for this classic word-association
game and see if you can guess the "Password Puzzle"
and get a chance to go on to Alphabetics for your
chance to win thousands of yen in cash and prizes!
- Anime Win, Lose, or Draw-
It's the quick draw game
that everyone can play. It's Anime Win, Lose, or Draw!
Come on it and have fun as we use drawings to convey
to our teammates various anime titles, video game
titles, and other anime-related things. It's a blast!
- Anime Press Your Luck-
From AnimeFEST! in Dallas,
Texas, it's time to Press Your Luck! This game show
involves good strategy making combined with a little
bit of... luck. All you have to do is avoid everyone's
favorite little character, the whammy, in order to win
literally endless amounts of cash and prizes. (Keep in
mind though, that since the con and For Randy
Entertainment itself aren't exactly made of money, so
there is a 25,000 yen limit that we have to impose.
Sorry.)
- Fanboy Feud-
It's time! For the Fanboy Feud! Yes, it's
back after a long period of being retired. And this
game of surveys and answers is better than ever. Join
us for fun and a chance for your team to win great
prizes! Survey says 98 out of a 100 anime fans won't
want to miss this one.
